The common elimant of our cars lies with the engine, the Z20LET.

Z20LET is rated good for 320hp!

Engine origin
Block is from the X20XEV engine, the pistons are Mahle Versions
Cylinder head and ignition are from the Y22XE.
Piston rods are from the C20LET.
Exhaust valves are from the X30XE.
Intake manifold is from the X22XE.
Stock Turbocharger is a KKK K04 good for up to 250HP-260HP.

The club was started in 2003. The Opel Astra Coupe & OPC Club of SA is run for enthusiasts by enthusiast. The club is a non profit organization and there are no club fees payable, the club is free to all that qualify and sign up as members. The Club is a social club with the prime directive being the creation and sharing of knowledge and experience among its members. The motor sport arm of the club is called “Team VXR” formed with the aim of creating a sense of unity and sporting spirit among members that wish to participate in motor sport activities. The club does not in any way, shape or form support illegal street racing. The club encourages all members to make use of proper track facilities or sanctioned events in a safe and secure environment.

The Club supports events like Drag Wars, Illegal to Legal and Wesbank Top End runs... The club also fosters good relationships with other clubs and on the cards is an interclub event called "Boost Wars" the theme of which will be a 400m, 1km and top end run battle between various production performance cars such as M3's, Subarus, Audis, GTi's, Renault's, Ford ST and the Opels...

1. The Opel Astra Coupe & OPC Club of SA is a stand alone body which is a non profit organization that is not associated or affiliated with any other organizations.

2. The Opel Astra Coupe & OPC Club of SA is run for enthusiasts by enthusiast. All club positions are on a voluntary basis.

3. The Club is a social club with the prime directive being the creation and sharing of knowledge and experience among its members.

4. There are no club fees payable, the club is free to all that qualify and sign up as members. All events are arranged on a pay as you go basis where members will pay their own costs to participate. If possible sponsorship for certain events will be arranged.

5. Active members: Due to there being no annual renewal of membership in order to be considered an active member one must at least contribute to the club as whole and partake in knowledge sharing weather given or received. Where possible every member must attend at least one event a year, regional social events will count for this purpose.

6. Each and every active member has an equal say in the club and at any point in time if any action is deemed to be unconstitutional it can be put to a vote at an official club meeting arranged for the specific purpose. Members who cannot make the meeting will be allowed to post their votes.

7. The motor sport arm of the club is called “Team VXR” formed with the aim of creating a sense of unity and sporting spirit among members that wish to participate in motor sport activities. Team VXR also caters for any driver with an Opel powered car deemed to be worthy that wishes to share in the team spirit and contribute to the club.

8. The club does not in any way, shape or form support illegal street racing. The club encourages all members to make use of proper track facilities or sanctioned events in a safe and secure environment.

9. The club Annual General Meeting is to be held once every year without exception.

10. Club Roles and Responsibilities are to be reviewed on an annual basis. All club positions are on a volunteer basis, over and above this all members may contribute in time and effort when they can add value.
